SEN celebrates record growth in listeners across the country

Melbourne’s Home of Sport, SEN 1116am, is today celebrating its 20th year in style, achieving the highest ratings in the station’s history.

The record survey result saw the station deliver 428,000 listeners and a total share of 5.1%, as revealed by the GfK 3, 2024 Survey released today.

SEN’s acclaimed breakfast lineup, including Breakfast with Garry Lyon & Tim Watson (Tuesday-Thursday), Kane Cornes & Nathan Buckley (Mondays) and Kane Cornes & Davd King (Fridays) reached an all-time high 4.8% Share.

Following the announcement of a three-year contract extension, ‘Whateley’ with the country’s leading sports broadcaster Gerard Whateley achieved a record share of 6.0%^^.

SEN’s AFL Nation coverage on Friday night came first with an 8.7% share***. The Friday night team of Gerard Whateley, Dwayne Russell, Gerard Healy and Brad Johnson also came first among men, achieving a 13% share ^^^.

The popularity of SEN’s daytime programming was bolstered by Dwayne’s World, with Dwayne Russell reaching a peak of 5.4%^. While The Run Home with Andy Maher and Andrew Gaze achieved a rise of 5.1%**

Other highlights include: • ‘Crunch Time’ achieving a 5.0% share (All People, 10+, Saturday, 11am – 1pm) • SEN’s Saturday afternoon AFL Nation coverage achieved a 6.0% share. 3% (All people, 10+, Saturday, from 1pm to 4:30pm). ) • SEN’s AFL Nation Saturday night coverage achieved a 6.9% share (All People, 10+, Saturday 7pm-12pm) • SEN’s AFL Nation Sunday afternoon coverage achieved a 6.4% share (All People, 10+, Sunday, 1-4pm) • ‘Finey’s Final Siren’ with Mark Fine achieved a 9.0% share (All People, 10+, Friday , from 11pm to 12pm)

The strong performances across the board are bolstered by SEN’s commitment to technological innovation, including the recent launch of the SEN Sync and SEN Stadium experiences.

Sydney’s SEN 1170am secured a 2.1% share in the All People 10+ demographic, and the station’s cumulative audience also grew to 142,000 listeners, confirming its position as Sydney’s leading sports radio network.

‘The Run Home with Joel & Fletch’, featuring Joel Caine and Bryan Fletcher, remains the station’s most connected show, maintaining its 3.0% share in All People 10+ and growing its male 25-54 audience to 6.1% share.

SEN 1170am’s performance increased across all dayparts: • ‘Breakfast with Andrew Voss and Greg ‘Brandy’ Alexander’ continued its upward trajectory, securing a 1.8% share (0.5 increase); • ‘Mornings with Matt White’ recorded another increase, reaching a share of 2.1% (+0.4); • ‘Afternoons with Jimmy Smith’ led the charge by recording a 2.5% share (0.6 increase); • ‘Morning Glory’, fronted by Matty Johns, and ‘The Captain’s Run’, presented by future Immortals Cameron Smith and Denan Kemp, also produced good results, achieving 3% and 2.6% share respectively for their weekly programs.
